At first sight, I knew this apartment had a lot of potential. We loved the idea of the split level apartment and the beautiful hardwood floors. 2 bed and 1 1/2 bath works for our little family. Added Bonus: 3 parking spots. THREE! A designated, covered parking spot for all of us was the icing on the cake and a couple weeks after finding the new apartment, we found ourselves throwing all of our belongings into boxes and kissing Malibu goodbye. Hello Brentwood.
Before moving in, we took it upon ourselves to do a little bit of home improvement - including a small paint job, adjusting shelves, installing wall hooks etc. Thanks to mom and dad, I'm not afraid of using a power tool and every project we complete brings us closer to finishing the long, but necessary, nesting process. I secretly love it.
It's a work in progress, but cheers to the start of life at a great new home. I'm thinking we could call this one "The Avacado". What do you think?
Our living room. Next step: getting artwork on the walls! Notice Blair's spider plant in the corner? My favorite. I love how she's totally working her green thumb. Pictures of her mini succulent/herb/tomato garden soon...
Since this picture was taken, we've hung Jackie's "Big Red" guitar and my ukulele on the wall. It's our mini music corner. Makes us look cooler than we really are, but I'm okay with it.

Catching Up
Finally, Saturday.
Since graduation, I've managed to find a job, move from Malibu to Brentwood, quit my first job, and find a new job within a matter of days. Don't ask how I pulled it off, I honestly have no clue. Needless to say, updating the blog has been set on the back burner. I have been meaning to post some pictures of the new place.

I Can't Believe It. I Am SO Lucky.
This week has been such a roller-coaster of ups and downs. Multiple interviews, rejection, and happy hour at Monsoon (you be the judge of the ups and the downs).
But, ladies and gentlemen, I have big news: Today...I landed a job. A real job!!
I stayed in LA to see if I could make it. Thank the good Lord that everything seems to be falling into place. And rather quickly at that. After graduation, I gave myself a month-long grace period to pull myself together and maybe enjoy whatever "summer" I had left. I was expecting pure turmoil in these months - utter anxiety about the unknown future ahead of me. In this economy, the job market is full of fierce competition and I thought this one month period would turn into two months and then to three. Turns out I have found an awesome place to live (signing the contract tomorrow at 1!), I have two amazing roommates and cat, and now I have a job!!! God is good. I'm going to be getting paid peanuts for the amount of work and devotion this job will require, but God is GOOD. I have a job.
After getting rejected from what seemed like the perfect job at CAA, I was so motivated to get myself out there. I discovered video resumes and contemplated making my own but ended up checking out some REALLY BAD resumes on Youtube. If you want a good laugh or maybe an ego boost, please look into this. I recommend this one. And this one. At least you're not these people.
On that note, that's it for me. I'm sleeping well tonight!
One more thing:

...just so you know.

Changes changes changes...
Theme song for this post (give it a second to load):
{She and Him's Change is Hard}
I won't go into details - but the end of this week has the potential to be either awesome or disappointing. In the past two days, I've had three interviews with potential employers. I'm hoping to hear back from those companies by the end of the week and I'm crossing my fingers! Almost three weeks of unemployment (is that right?!) and I'm still holding my head high. I know something will pull through.
One thing is for sure...I'm so excited to move out of Malibu. Wow, who ever thought I would be saying that?! Blair, Jackie and I are moving out to Brentwood in a couple weeks and I couldn't be happier. We'll be closer to everything and it's such an active area. Lower gas bills. Lower rent. Fun people. Whole Foods around the corner. Sprinkles only 15 minutes away. Yoga only a bike ride away. I will be one happy pickle.
Speaking of change, I should get my hair cut. Or new shoes. *dangerous, Naomi.* I've been contemplating bangs for a while but I don't know if I'm ready to go there. If you know me well, you will know that I am somewhat sensitive to the subject. But how cute is this?
Maybe it's just Zooey Deschanel that I love. You have to admit, the girl rocks the bangs. And she can sing. And she's engaged to Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie. Ok, maybe I just want to be her.
I've also been super hair-crushing on Betty's hair (from Le Blog de Betty). But will I look like I'm in 5th grade again if I do the chop? Maybe I just want to be Francais and able to pull off metallic tights and a bright blue blazer. Non? Decisions decisions...any thoughts??

One Day...
...I will have high ceilings from which to hang many lanterns and lights.

...I will have a blossoming garden of roses, gardenias, jasmine and everything else that smells lovely.

...I will land that dream job!

Two days after graduation and I'm officially on the hunt. I think I probably send out an average of 5 resume/cover letter combos a week to Craigslist and Entertainmentcareers.net postings and so far...nilch. What am I doing wrong?
Seeking: a creative company that is looking for a bright, young, educated, friendly, tech-savvy, dedicated, and passionate employee!
That shouldn't be too hard right? Companies of the world...I'm up for grabs! Help me help you (oh how I loathe that phrase).
